Review Stamp Day 2017

As is the case every year, “Stamp Day 2017” was one of the highlights of the last stamp year. The level III exhibition was held at the Centre sportif des Champs de la Joux in Sainte-Croix between 24 and 26 November 2017. The event was organized by the club Société Philatelique Sainte-Croix, which celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2017. It was opened to the sound of musical entertainment with the cutting of an oversized cake. The numerous visitors had 69 exhibits to peruse.

In keeping with tradition, Swiss Post was represented at the event with a special post office. Once again, the cancellation service proved extremely popular. Collectors were also able to marvel at and purchase fascinating collectors’ items from stamp dealers, sometimes even completing gaps in their collections.

The miniature sheet designer Tessa Gerster was hard at work signing autographs, while the next generation was able to gain a better understanding of stamp collecting in the youth corner.
