The countdown has begun!

In celebration of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Swiss Post has issued the “Swiss Olympic 2018” special stamp. The official Swiss Olympic delegation was announced on the issue date, 29 January 2018.

The whole of Switzerland is simmering with excitement ahead of this event: in just a few days, on 9 February, the 2018 Winter Olympics will open in Pyeongchang, South Korea. These will be the third Winter Games to be held in Asia after Sapporo (1972) and Nagano (1998). Switzerland is of course once again represented by a prestigious delegation. The whole country will be crossing its fingers when more than one hundred competitions are staged across seven different sports and fifteen disciplines. That’s reason enough for Swiss Post to issue the “Swiss Olympic 2018” special stamp. It will be officially presented at the Swiss Olympic press conference. The stamp is based on Swiss Olympic’s visual identity and should be met with great interest among specialist Olympic collectors. However, many Swiss people will undoubtedly also seize the opportunity to show their support for our athletes. Swiss Post would also like to wish them every success!
